The CCI France Japon and the Women in Business Committee are proud to announce our new luncheon in cooperation with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Japan (CCCJ). Meet Professor of Finance and Dean of the McGill Japan MBA Program, Isabelle Bajeux-Besnainou, during a luncheon and workshop on Thursday, March 15, at the Roppongi Hills Club.
Founded in 1906, the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University is ranked as one of the world’s top international business schools. Every year, the McGill University attracts thousands of foreign students, among them more than 1800 French students, and 12 Nobel Prizes have been awarded to professors or alumnis of the university. Isabelle Bajeux-Besnainou became the school's first female Dean in september 2015.
Mrs. Bajeux-Besnainou has more than 20 years of experience in academia and business school administration. Her research interests relate to asset pricing, portfolio management, and credit risk, among other topics. She also published numerous articles in academic journals such as Management Science, Mathematical Finance, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, American Economic Review, and Journal of Business.
This luncheon and workshop will be a great opportunity to listen to Mrs. Bajeux-Besnainou's knowledge in Finance and extensive experience in Academics, as she is at the head of a prestigious business school.
About the speaker
Graduated with a Master of Science in Mathematics applied to Economics in 1986 and with a doctorate in Mathematics applied to Finance in 1989 from the Paris-Dauphine University, Dean Isabelle Bajeux-Besnainou taught at the École Supérieure des Sciences Économiques et Commerciales (ESSEC) in Paris (France), at the Montréal Univiersity (Canada) and, from 1994 to 2015, at the George Washington University (United-States).
If she started a career at the George Washington University in 1994, she reveals a talent for leadership as she becomes Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs at the George Washington University in 2012. She launched several initiatives, including a Bachelor of Science degree program with a major in Finance and the redesigning of the University's First Year Development Program for incoming undergraduate students with additional emphasis on integrity, ethics, civility and social entrepreneurship.
In september 2015, she becomes the first female Dean of McGill's Desautels Faculty of Management in Montréal (Canada).
