France Japon Eco Event
Japan's political scene has become fascinating since the October 22 elections. While Shinzo Abe's LDP and Komeito could secure two-thirds of the seats, two new parties are challenging its authority. Weeks after it was born, penniless, the Constitutionalist Democratic Party of Yukio Edano has become Japan's second party. Meanwhile, the party of Hope headed by Tokyo governor Yuriko Koike is another opposition force to the majority.
The fight ahead will have political, social and economic consequences for all. The Diet is writing the rules in Japan, and to understand its mechanics is essential.
Veteran political commentator Takao Toshikawa will navigate us through Japan's new political waters. As the editor of Tokyo Insideline, Takao Toshikawa is perhaps the journalist who knows Japan's political scene the best. A regular contributor to Japanese and foreign media (Financial Times, Le Figaro, Nikkei...), he is famous for the accuracy of his elections forecasts. He keeps both his independence and a direct line with Japan's leaders of all sides. After a brief summary, he will answer your questions (in English).
Join us at BNP Paribas' headquarters on November 13 and do not miss this unique opportunity to understand how Japan's power will work.
