Inaugurating our “Lunch & Learn” series, CCIFJ is pleased to introduce a new learning seminar on professional networking, and how to get it right.
While networking is a necessary skill in most professions, it only comes naturally to a very happy few – most of us being overwhelmed by feelings of shyness, not wanting to intrude, trying to figure out interesting things to say, and working out what to do afterwards with the many business cards collected. So how can we make the most efficient use of our time and come across as a pleasant and professional business contact that will be remembered for all the right reasons?
Well, we’ve asked the expert… In just under two hours, Kevin Naylor, VP of Japan Sales at top recruiting firm en world, will guide us through the do’s and don’ts of networking in a Japanese/International context, building on his 13+ years of experience in sales in Japan. This session will be very interactive with opportunities to practice networking skills live. Kevin will run the session in Japanese with supplemental English in order to reflect real-life situations as much as possible.
About the speaker:
Kevin Naylor is a Vice President and board member at en world Japan K.K., one of the top recruitment firms serving the global talent market here in Japan and across APAC. Over his 13 years in the recruitment business Kevin has overseen the development of Consultants working across a broad range of industries and markets in Japan and the region. Starting with no experience in sales or knowledge in Financial Services, where he was first assigned to work as a recruiter, Kevin had to build his knowledge, brand and network from scratch. He has experienced firsthand how the development of a deep and broad personal and professional network can spark not only his personal career success (and enjoyment) but also the success of the Recruitment Consultants he has managed and the business people they support. Kevin is originally from the United States but has lived in Japan for more than 20 years. He holds a master’s degree from The Pennsylvania State University and speaks both English and Japanese.
