The French Chamber’s Business Setup and Development Committee is pleased to propose a seminar on long-lasting sales growth with Nicolas Geiger, President of L’Occitane Group Japan.
The group has a 40 year-long history but during its first 20 years of existence, L’Occitane remained a raw diamond with only 10 shops all over France. When Reinold Geiger became head of the company in 1996, his main goal was to make it a global brand.
With his own personal funds, he first opened stores in New York, London and Hong Kong, and from the year 2000, Asia became L’Occitane’s primary growth driver. Japan came to be the first market in term of sales for the brand in 2005, and just as fast, local management started demanding a rise in quality as to keep up with market’s standards.
Through this exclusive seminar, learn how the group L’Occitane took up the challenge and how it succeeded. Discover the secrets for long-lasting growth in the ever-so demanding Japanese market.
About the speaker
Nicolas Geiger, President and Representative Director of L’Occitane Group Japan, graduated from Oxford University with a degree in Engineering Economics and Management. After gaining a mathematics teaching degree, he decided to embark on an entrepreneurial adventure in Switzerland. He joined Angel des Montagnes, a small decoration company based in Geneva, as Commercial Director. Nicolas doubled its sales turnover in the span of 3 years, and later left the company to join the INSEAD MBA program.
