The French Chamber invites you to a gathering of Japan’s luxury market players on the occasion of the upcoming opening of GINZA SIX, Japan’s biggest department store ever opened, and the release of a special report on luxury by the quarterly business magazine FRANCE JAPON ECO.
Japan’s luxury market is at a crossroads. After 2015, deemed “the best year of our lives” by many luxury players, 2016 was disappointing. The local clientele has limited their expenses, while tourists’ purchases have slowed down. Yet the Japanese still represent a huge chunk (11%) of the world’s luxury consumption. Natural-born trendsetters, always rewarding quality and innovation, their sophistication puts them in the driver’s seat for the rest of the world.
The opening of GINZA SIX is a historical event for the Japanese economy. And a gamble, at a time when the concept of department store is being challenged. And a perfect opportunity to discuss the state of the market.
Major players from the luxury industry will gather and share their experience in a friendly setting. The cocktail will be preceded by a keynote speech on luxury. Come exchange ideas and business cards, and enjoy a French buffet complete with fine wines and champagne.
