CCI France Japan expands its presence: Decision to open a local branch in Gunma

The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan announced that it will open a branch office in Gunma.

As part of its ongoing commitment to strengthen economic ties between France and Japan, the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (CCIFJ) announced the opening of a branch office in Gunma on May 9.

This strategic addition to our network reveals the CCIFJ's growing commitment to supporting French, international and Japanese companies in the region.

Located 100 km away from Tokyo, Gunma prefecture offers a favorable environment for business and cultural development.

Gunma has been a pioneer in France-Japan relations, notably in the silk industry with the Tomioka factory. Its economy is rooted in manufacturing, particularly the automotive and metallurgy industries, with renowned companies such as Michelin and Subaru among others. Danone, also member of the CCIFJ, has a major production site in the region.

The opening of this branch is an important step in the development of economic relations between France and Gunma prefecture. Through its local presence, the CCI France Japon aims to intensify cooperation with the region economic players. CCIFJ is planning to organize regular local events, connect Gunna companies with CCIFJ members and support Gunma companies go overseas … in order to foster mutual economic growth.

This initiative also aims to help CCIFJ member companies to settle in the Gunma region, by providing essential support for their expansion and development in the Japanese market.

The opening event took place in the presence of Ichita Yamamoto, Governor of Gunma, Jérôme Chouchan, President of CCI France Japon and Nicolas Bonnardel, General Manager of CCI France Japon.

President of the CCIFJ Jérôme Chouchan declared: 

The opening of our Gunma office reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting and strengthening economic ties between France and Japan. We are convinced that this expansion of our presence will enable us to better serve our members and foster fruitful collaboration between Gunma companies and our members. We look forward to actively contributing to the economic development of this dynamic region.

With offices in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka and now Gunma, the CCIFJ offers a full range of services and activities to support companies as they expand in their respective markets.
