Review of 2025

Jérôme Chouchan recalled the mission and vision of the CCI France Japon, as well as its core values.

The year 2025 was marked by the success of the Osaka Kansai World Expo and the France Pavilion, which attracted a record number of French delegations. The CCI France Japon played an active role in fostering connections between these delegations and its members.

The Chamber reached a historic milestone with more than 719 members, confirming its leading position in Japan and strengthening the momentum of its community.

Member satisfaction remained at the heart of its actions, structured around three key areas:

  • a personalized business matching service, with 3,690 connections made in 2025
  • a member visit program to better understand needs and support projects
  • the regular organization of free events, such as Café Croissant and Connect, encouraging exchanges among members

The year was also marked by the success of flagship events, further enhancing the visibility and influence of the CCI France Japon:

  • the Business Summit, bringing together top-level decision-makers around Franco-Japanese economic issues
  • the Business Leaders Forums, providing a platform for exchange and strategic reflection among executives
  • the Osaka Kansai World Expo 2025
  • a large-scale French Fair organized with AEON, deployed across 5,000 points of sale throughout Japan, showcasing French products and expertise

Regional development also accelerated, with strengthened activities across the Fukuoka, Kansai, Nagoya, Gunma and Fukui offices. The Chamber also offers coworking spaces and meeting rooms through its “Le Booster” business centers in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukui.

Finally, major progress was achieved in digitalization with the launch of two digital formats from the CCI France Japon Studio: the interview series “Business Regards croisés” and the podcast “Itinéraires singuliers”.

The presentation concluded with the screening of a video summarizing the Chamber’s 2025 activities, highlighting the year’s key moments and achievements.

Each director and committee president then presented their 2025 activities and results.

Guest of Honor - Conference

Takeshi Idezawa, CEO of LY Corporation, speaks about Initiatives for the Age of Generative AI.

A leading figure in Japan’s digital landscape and co-founder of the LINE messaging application, Takeshi Idezawa addressed the key challenges linked to the rise of generative artificial intelligence.

He emphasized that one of the main challenges today is accelerating companies’ digital transformation, in a context where AI is profoundly reshaping business models. The emergence of tools such as copilots and autonomous agents marks a shift from conversational AI to action-oriented AI capable of interacting with systems and executing complex tasks.

According to him, we are entering a new era of connected and strategic AI, where personal agents will be able to handle everyday activities (bookings, negotiations, services), fundamentally transforming interactions between companies and customers.

In this context, LY Corporation aims to build a comprehensive AI agent ecosystem integrated across its multiple services. The objective is clear: to evolve from an internet company into an AI agent-driven company, by optimizing user experience and integrating services at a national scale. According to the company, the fastest movers will be the most competitive in the market.

Embassy speech

Mr. Gilles Bordes, Minister counsellor for economic affairs at the French Embassy in Tokyo, emphasized that Japan is at an important stage in its development, marked by a desire to consolidate its position in Asia and on the global stage. In this context, he highlighted opportunities for cooperation between France and Japan in investment and innovation across strategic sectors, as well as the importance of President Emmanuel Macron’s upcoming visit to deepen bilateral economic relations.
