Conserverie PAPILLON MARMUS : Occitanie on your plate

[Translate to English:] conserverie papillon

The company took part in a collective mission in May 2018 with the support of the Occitanie Region, a strategy that proved successful.

Founded in 1955, Conserverie PAPILLON MARMUS took part in a collective mission of companies from the Occitanie region from May 28 to 30, 2018, with the aim of exporting its premium quality terrines and pâtés made in Aveyron from French meat.

Following a comprehensive program of visits to various agri food retail outlets, Alexandre Marmus benefited from personalized B2B meetings with seven prospects selected by our team. All of them expressed interest, but it was with the importer YAKURYO KAIHATSU, specializing in organic products, that the collaboration proved to be the most fruitful.

As soon as we returned, daily correspondence was established,” explains Alexandre Marmus. “We quickly appreciated the curiosity of the Japanese, as well as their very constructive and distinctive approach to our products. Having already had a first experience in Japan in the past, we paid particular attention to nurturing the relationship with our future partner. Fast responses combined with a high level of detail allowed us to overcome the distance. In three months, we built a very respectful relationship that facilitated all the steps required for the success of the project.”

At the end of September, after several test shipments including sampling, selection of the carrier, and validation of customs procedures, a pallet of 5,000 terrines under the MAISON PAPILLON brand set sail for the Land of the Rising Sun. YAKURYO KAIHATSU carefully selected five organic duck recipes, which were presented at the French Fair of the MITSUKOSHI department store in Nihonbashi. Thanks to this dynamic partnership, the family owned company has thus embarked on a new chapter in the gourmet showcases of Tokyo.

Alexandre Marmus shares with us, “We are very proud to offer our know how in Japan, as it represents recognition of our standards and our philosophy of conduct.” These initial sales have already fully covered the investment made and open up numerous export opportunities to other Asian countries, which recognize the unwavering reputation for quality of products sold in Japan.
