French Excellence in Japan: 30 MOFs at the French Pavilion

From Friday, September 26 to Sunday, September 28, the France Pavilion hosted an exceptional event: for the very first time, 30 “Meilleurs Ouvriers de France” (MOF), representing a wide range of professions, gathered in Japan to share and showcase their French craftsmanship with both Japanese and international audiences.

With the official support of the city of Ogaki, located in Gifu Prefecture, and with the participation of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (CCIFJ) as an official partner, the 30 MOF in attendance shared their passion and expertise with as many people as possible. They also expressed their desire to build strong ties with Japan through craftsmanship, culture, and savoir-faire.

This public event highlighted the vital role of craftsmanship and traditional expertise as a natural bridge between France and Japan. For many years, our two countries have shared a mutual admiration for the transmission of tradition and excellence in creation. The presence of the MOF underscored this affinity, illustrating how craftsmanship stands at the crossroads of culture, industry, and commerce.

This first edition paves the way for future prospects. Indeed, for such an event to take place again, the support of partners and sponsors is essential. Only under these conditions can France and Japan continue to build lasting connections around the excellence of craftsmanship.
