Japanese telecommunications operator KDDI has finalized its takeover of Lawson, announced last February.

KDDI, the Japanese telecommunications company, has finalized its takeover bid for Lawson.

Announced last February, this 490-billion-yen takeover bid will enable Lawson to adopt a common management structure with its parent company, Mitsubishi, and telecommunications giant KDDI. The procedure was completed on April 26, with KDDI buying back over 38% of Lawson's shares.

This joint operation not only speeds up decision-making in a highly competitive sector, but also develops collaboration between the convenience store network and the cell phone business.
