A look back at our France's National Day Dinner
A unprecedented collaboration between the CCIFJ’s Kansai desk and the Cercle France Kansai to celebrate France's National Day.
For the first time, the Kansai desk of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (CCIFJ) partnered with Cercle France Kansai (CFK), a long-standing local partner, to bring the spirit of France’s National Day to life in Japan. Historically, the Cercle France Kansai had already been bringing together the local Franco-Japanese community on a monthly basis for years before the CCIFJ office opened in Osaka. For this reason, this collaboration was a logical step.
Held on Tuesday, July 21, to celebrate France’s National Day, this event took place at the Hilton Osaka, a member of the Chamber, which provided us with high-quality service befitting the importance of the gathering. Members of the French community and Japanese Francophiles in Kansai were able to gather in an elegant setting, decorated in the colors of France, to enjoy a meal thoughtfully prepared by the hotel’s culinary teams.
The evening began with remarks by Mr. Tadashi Nakajima, the current president of Cercle France Kansai, who took this opportunity to reaffirm the importance of the cooperative relationship between our two organizations.
In a spirit of conviviality and sharing, the evening brought participants together for a gourmet French dinner, featuring a pâté en croûte, mushroom vichyssoise, sea bass with Véronique sauce, Provençal-style chicken, and, to conclude the meal, peach Melba, honouring the iconic flavours of French cuisine. To accompany these dishes, a selection of wines specially selected by our partner AOC France was matched to each course.
With a majority of French and Japanese guests attending, this evening provided an ideal setting for networking, making new connections, and fostering future collaborations, all in a warm and festive atmosphere.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to our co-organizer, the Cercle France Kansai, as well as to our partners, the Hilton Osaka and AOC France Co., Ltd., whose precious support contributed greatly to the success of this event.
We have therefore agreed to make this an annual event, to be held every year whenever possible. We look forward to welcoming you again next year!
