TotalEnergies celebrates its 100th anniversary

The French company celebrated its centenary last March.
TotalEnergies celebrated its 100th birthday last March.
The Compagnie Française des Pétroles
It all began in 1924, when Compagnie Française des Pétroles was created to supply France with oil: a daring gamble, given that the country had no black gold.
The company then set off to the four corners of the globe in a race for energy.
Nowadays
This energy race gave rise to the energy giant TotalEnergies as we know it today. The company produces and supplies a variety of energy sources, including oil and biofuels, natural and green gas, renewables and electricity.
A global energy giant, TotalEnergies is present in nearly 130 countries, including Japan, and employs over 100,000 people.
The company is also diversifying its activities, turning to motor sport sponsorship. Fans recognize the company as a sponsor of Red Bull and Renault in Formula 1, or Peugeot at Le Mans. TotalEnergies is also a partner of car makers Peugeot and Citroën, using its products as greases and oils.
TotalEnergies into the future
The world-class company is currently focusing on the energy transition, including hydrocarbons or LNG (liquefied natural gas) and electricity from 2020. The company has made a long-term commitment to ensuring a secure energy supply for the future.
