Mr. Jean Todt is the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety, appointed in 2015. In this role, he has been at the forefront of global advocacy to address what he calls the “silent pandemic” of road traffic crashes, which claim 1.19 million lives each year. He works closely with governments, international organizations, civil society, and the private sector to mobilize political commitment, resources, and partnerships for safer roads worldwide.
Before his UN appointment, Mr. Todt built a distinguished career in international motorsport. He served as CEO of Ferrari and later as President of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) from 2009 to 2021.
