Understanding the Japan-EU Economic Partnership Agreement : Balancing Cost Savings and Managing Risks
The CCI France Japon was enchanted to host our Tax and Regulations Committee event "Understanding the Japan-EU Economic Partnership Agreement : Balancing Cost Savings and Managing Risks", on the evening of September 13th 2023. This event was mainly about the Japan-EU Economic Partnership Agreement (JEEPA), an agreement between the EU and Japan that reduces or eliminates the duty for imports of products between the two, and provides duty saving opportunities to the importing businesses in those countries. Our speaker, Robert Olson, Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers WMS, having over 25 years of experience in customs and global trade, provided our guests with an overview of how to use the JEEPA to reduce their duty expense into Japan, and also with strategies to organize and prepare their records for inevitable audits by Japan Customs.
