The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan is glad to announce the next Business Setup & Development Committee event on Thursday, October 29, 2020.
Terrie Lloyd has been a serial entrepreneur in Japan for 35 years. During that time he has founded 17 companies in Japan, more overseas, and has had 8 successful earnouts. But it hasn't all been a success story and several major failures have provided him with important learning experiences that he will share at the event. Terrie will share the funding methods, development process, management methods, and eventual sale of a venture business in Japan.
Terrie has also recently supported the management buyout of a New Zealand venture-stage health devices company that will be moved to Switzerland. He will talk about the current venture financing environment, how to re-position a problematic technology company as a re-energized startup (very important for successful funding), and some of the advantages and challenges of setting up the business in Europe. Terrie will close with some of the hot sectors suitable for start-ups (food, Covid-19, software) and which can provide a fertile base for any European company or entrepreneur looking to start up in Japan.
