Sumo returns to Paris for the first time in 30 Years

This summer, in Tokyo, you will have a special chance to discover this unique project !

The Grand Sumo Tournament will be held in Paris on June 13 and 14, 2026, marking its long-awaited return to the city after 30 years. Top-ranked sumo wrestlers will gather in Paris for this extraordinary occasion, showcasing sumo—a sport deeply rooted in Japanese culture and history.

The first Paris tournament took place in 1986 and in 1995 under the patronage of President Jacques Chirac, a passionate admirer of Japanese sumo. This time, the event is being organized by Mr. David Rothschild—an enthusiastic promoter of Asian sports, music, and cultural projects—in collaboration with AEG Presents France.

Mr Takahashi will tell you everything about it, on July 23, 2025 at CCI France Japon. The presentation will be in Japanese with English interpretation, followed by a networking cocktail for you to continue de conversation. We look forward to seeing you there.

Born in 1961 in Tokyo, Japan.

He joined Hakuhodo Inc. in 1984 and worked in client services for major beverage, telecom, and real estate companies. During his time in Hiroshima, he managed key events such as the Hiroshima Airport opening and the Asian Games, while also supporting local clients like sake brewers.

In 2005, he transferred to Hakuhodo DY Media Partners, where he handled regional newspapers and OOH media strategy. Since leaving Hakuhodo in 2020, he has been supporting several companies, including e-Spirit Inc.
