Hideko TAKEYASUPresident, Kyoto Women's University

Professor Emeritus, Hideko Takeyasu is a sociologist specializing in family sociology, community sociology, and folklore studies, and has served as President of Kyoto Women's University since 2020. Since joining the university in 2000, she has held several leadership positions, including Dean of the Faculty of Contemporary Society, Director of the Regional Collaboration Research Center, and Vice President, and became the first woman to lead the university in its more than 100-year history.

She has published extensively on women's political participation, gender structures in local communities, and regional leadership, and has made "developing women leaders who can contribute to achieving gender equality" a core mission of the university, actively promoting gender equality in Japanese society in partnership with businesses and government bodies.
