Oliver Matthew is CLSA Head of Institutional Equities and Head of Consumer Research for Asia. Oliver covers Korea and Japan consumer companies, and, in Japan, he also covers internet and telecoms. He joined CLSA in April 2008 after working for Jardine Matheson, Diageo and Moet-Hennessy in various marketing roles. Oliver graduated in Chinese studies from the University of Cambridge and is also fluent in Japanese. Oliver has been consistently ranked the leading Japan consumer discretionary analyst by Asiamoney since 2016 and has won multiple awards for his consumer staples, telecoms and internet coverage.
