Business Summit: huge success for our 3rd edition

The CCI France Japon ends up its 2020 Business session with its major event: the 3rd edition of the Business Summit, on « Growth Opportunities in Africa, towards New Business Partnership », after a series of successful sectorial events in Hybrid format (Energy, Healthcare, Space, Mobility,…).

The French-Japanese Business Summit has become the essential event for the French and Japanese business community, willing to develop partnerships and shape the future together, in their country and beyond. This conference took a new major step this year, by enlarging its participation worldwide thanks to live broadcasting on top of presentials. Despite the sanitary context, the event attracted more than 550 participants worldwide, all connected towards listening inspiring speakers discuss :

  • Introduction and New approaches in Africa,
  • Investments,
  • Trends by Geographies and Markets,
  • Technology and Innovation,
  • Access to care,
  • SDG Outlook,
  • A modern and Integrated Africa.

The day opened with 5 prestigious speakers. Armel CAHIERRE, President, French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan, Philippe SETTON, French Ambassador to Japan, YONETANI Koji, Deputy Assistant Minister, Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau, MOFA, OCHI Hitoshi Vice Chair, Keidanren / Chair, Committee on Europe (President and CEO , Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings Corporation) and IMAI Toshimitsu, COO for Africa Division, Toyota Tsusho Corporation. All insisted on the importance of partnerships between Japan, France and African countries.

During the day, 25 top level speakers from Europe and Japan shared their operational experience in Africa, their challenges (climate change, COVID19), and their vision.

Among the many prestigious speakers: M. Ashwani GUPTA, Director representative executive officer, chief operating officer NISSAN motors, Oussouby SACKO, President of the Kyoto Seika University, OSHIMA Masahiko, Deputy president Head of SMBC, MUTO Megumi Deputy Director, Ogata Sadako research Institute for Peace and Dev. at JICA or Lionel ZINSOU Managing Partner of Southbridge, Former Prime Minister of Benin.

The lunch by Chef Olivier-owner of Chez Olivier, 1 Michelin star in Tokyo, was a great occasion to network.  

Among the 550 participants, not less than 18 African Embassies delegations,  hundreds of companies, journalists and 11 prestigious Japanese universities representants enjoyed the journey.

Confident after strong attendance numbers and positive feedbacks, the CCI France Japon is giving rendez vous November 9 for its 4th Business Summit. The topic will be decided soon.
