Gontran Cherrier opens 2nd store in Japan on October 4th, located in Shinjuku, and starts an opening campaign!

Meitetsu Kyosho Corporation (Head office: Nakamura-ku, Nagoya; Representative Director: Masahiro Kobayashi) will open its second bakery in Japan, the Gontran Cherrier Shinjuku store, on October 4th, 2022. The new bakery will be located in the Shinjuku Odakyu Department Store (Shinjuku West Exit Halc 1F), which will be reopening on the same day. The bakery’s opening campaign will start at the same time.


Following the opening of its first store at Aoyama in July 2021, this new Shinjuku store will specialize in takeout under the concept of “Mr. Gontran Cherrier's small store” (Le petit magasin de M. Gontran Cherrier). This new store will offer quality and freshly made breads, such as its’ signature croissant, to passersby in the station.

3.Distribution target : Customers making purchases at the Shinjuku and Aoyama Gontran Cherrier’s stores (the first 150 customers each day)

※An original eco bag will come with the coupon if the total amount is more than 2000 yen.

4.Contents of coupon :In exchange for the coupon, we offer either an kouign-amann, a croissant or a pain au chocolat and a cup of coffee (hot or cold) from October 15th, 2022  to January 31st, 2023

Biography of Gontran Cherrier

A 4th generation baker from Normandy, France. After graduating from a culinary school, he worked at the 3 stars restaurants L'arpège and Lucas Carton in Paris, before opening his own bakery.

With a desire to bring real bread around the world, he has opened his own bakery, Gontran Cherrier, in several countries. After temporarily withdrawing from the Japanese market in 2017, he re-launched a bakery in Aoyama, Tokyo in 2021 with Meitetsu Kyosho as a partner.
