Looking back at "Decoding the Gaishikei Finance Function”

The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan organized “Decoding the Gaishikei Finance Function,” an event exploring the evolving role of finance teams in foreign-affiliated companies in Japan, from the impact of AI to talent management and strategic business partnering.

Following a presentation of survey findings conducted by FocusCore Group, our three speakers, Makiko Goshi (Senior Officer, Financial Management at Prudential Holdings of Japan), Tsutomu Miura (Finance Business Partner, Japan & Korea at Barry Callebaut), and Taisuke Yoshida (East Asia Industrial Automation Business Finance Leader at Schneider Electric), shared their insights and experiences on the challenges and opportunities shaping finance functions today. The discussion highlighted key priorities for finance leaders, including succession planning or talent development.
