Get ready for Japan’s next growing market
Japan is also a “sports power”. It arrived 3rd at both last two Olympics in Paris and Tokyo, only behind the United States and China. Japanese skills in baseball, judo, swimming and (of course) sumo are already famous; but it also has become a key country in soccer, rugby, volleyball, basketball – or even fencing.
These performances have created economic activity in an array of sectors: construction, retail, transportation, hospitality, broadcasting among others. According to Japan Sports Agency (JSA), Japan’s sports market is 5 times France’s sports market. Yet sports business is only in its infancy in Japan, offering opportunities to newcomers.
We have assembled a top team of speakers to understand Japan’s sports market. Basketball coach Kyle Milling will come from Gunma, where he runs the Crane Thunders. His last team, Hiroshima’s Dragonflies, clinched their first ever league championship. Japan’s national fencing (sabre) coach Jérôme Guth, whose women team clinched the gold medal at Paris’ Olympics, will join. Veteran sports journalist and writer Florent Dabadie too will be on stage to share his experience and forecasts on the future of sports business in Japan.
Key players onstage and offstage from the sports and business world will make this night a truly informative, fun event.
Get to the starting line. Join us at the French chamber of commerce on October 27, 5 pm.
