Join us on June 11th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM for an inspiring evening featuring Gaelle Akahori, General Manager at Le Cordon Bleu Japan.

Introduction to this committee:

Le Cordon Bleu, a renowned culinary institution, closed its Tokyo school during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, with Kyoto offering the ideal conditions for a new beginning, the school now faces an exciting opportunity to reimagine its future. This seminar will explore how Design Thinking—a human-centered approach to innovation that integrates people’s needs, technological possibilities, and business success—can guide the school's transition from closure to renaissance.

The presentation will focus on three key pillars of Design Thinking applied to Le Cordon Bleu Japan’s reopening: Understanding the needs of students and the local culinary community (Empathy and Research), Prototyping innovative educational experiences that blend tradition and modernity (Ideation and Experimentation), and Building a sustainable model that aligns with both the institution's legacy and market expectations (Implementation and Viability). Together, we will discover how human-centered design can transform challenges into opportunities and create a roadmap for a successful reopening.
