How to seek profit and improve society? To take the Financial Times’ famous section: “How to spend it... for a social purpose”? While seeking profit, companies often wish to "make a difference" by targeting a "noble cause". But how to chose the right one?

On April 22, CCI France Japon invites you to MONEY FOR SOMETHING: How to Improve your Company (& the World). Join us for an inspiring evening with outstanding leaders who change the world by applying to maximum impact the strictest rules of management.

Speakers

  • Taejun Shin founded Gojo & Company in 2014, which provides a Tokyo-based holding company of inclusive financial services in 13 countries of Asia and Africa. Gojo Group serves more than 3.4 million clients worldwide, through over 10,000 employees and a portfolio of 744 million USD loans.
Taejun also founded the Japan Office for Standards on Children’s Services, an independent nonprofit that evaluates and inspects child welfare institutions in Japan, including orphanages and residential care homes. Its role is to provide third-party assessments of the quality of care, safety, and living conditions, helping to introduce greater transparency and accountability into Japan’s child protection system.

  • Akiko Takai is the Deputy Secretary General of Save the Children Japan. Save the Children’s mission is to ensure that children survive, learn, and are protected, especially in vulnerable and crisis-affected regions. The organization operates in more than 100 countries, providing humanitarian aid, education, healthcare, nutrition, and protection services. Save the Children responds to emergencies such as wars, natural disasters, and refugee crises, while also running long-term development programs focused on education, child protection, and poverty reduction.
