The Independents Groups acquires Bureau Betak
Bureau Betak, the global events and production company founded by Alexandre de Betak in Paris in 1990, has sold a majority stake to The Independents group (joining K2, Karla Otto, The Qode and Lefty), according to representatives from both firms.
Over the last 30 years, Bureau Betak has built a name for producing some of fashion’s most opulent and extravagant shows and generated more than $100 million in revenue in 2019. It was responsible for Miu Miu’s first runway show in 1994 and Fendi’s glass labyrinth to mark creative director Kim Jones’ January couture debut.
The Independents has reached a new milestone, as it continues to position itself as a key player in fashion and luxury. The move cements The Independents Group and Bureau Betak’s status as industry trailblazers, collectively enabling an integrated approach to comprehensive client services. The group is a global leader in communications and digital marketing (Karla Otto/The Qode), experience and content (K2) and influence and data (Lefty).
