GIFAS and Aeromart: Strengthening aerospace industries ties between Europe and Japan

[Translate to Anglais:] GIFAS Meeting

On September 26, 2023, the CCIFJ organized a private meeting in Nagoya for GIFAS, the French Aerospace Industry Association, as an introduction to the Aeromart Nagoya. It was also the occasion to meet Sylvain Four, Director for European and International Affairs for GIFAS in France, who was with us for the occasion. The meeting took place at the Nagoya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which was kind enough to provide one of its conference halls as part of our on-going collaboration with them.

GIFAS is the French Aerospace Industry Association, bringing together over 400 companies specializing in the design, development, production, marketing and maintenance of all civil and military aerospace programs and equipment, as well as organizations from the French administration. They also organize the Paris Air Show, the world's largest air show, held every two years in Paris.

We had an insightful meeting, where each participant discussed the possibilities to develop better relations with Japanese aerospace actors. The session began with several in depth presentations of the current situation, after which the discussion focused on solutions to involve Japanese companies and administrations further, particularly through the organization of more impactful events.

The meeting was followed by a cocktail reception at the CCIFJ Business Center in Nagoya, a golden opportunity for CCIFJ Chūbu and Kansai members of the sector to exchange business cards with French aerospace public and private representatives, but also a more relaxed environment for friendly discussions and more informal information exchanges.

Participants in this event included representatives from the following entities: Airbus Defense and Space, Air Liquide, Daher, Fives Group, Safran, Thales, as well as the Directorate General for Civil Aviation (subordinate to the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy), the French Embassy in Japan and Business France.

We would like to thank all the participants for their presence and interest during the cocktail party, as well as GIFAS for the trust they placed in us to organize this event. We are delighted to have been able to contribute to strengthening ties between the French and Japanese aerospace industries, and to promoting exchanges and business opportunities between our members.
