New Year with the MOF in Nagoya

Buffet Galette MOF

New Year in Nagoya @MOF MUSEUM

On January 26, 2024 (Thursday), starting at 6 p.m., a New Year's reception was held at the MOF MUSEUM (Musée des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France), located in the Mizuho-ku district of Nagoya. We had the pleasure of welcoming more than 40 participants to this event.

This event was co-organized by our company and the sponsor MOF (Meilleurs Ouvriers de France). The term MOF refers to the prestigious title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France, honoring artisans with exceptional skills to perpetuate French culture. On this occasion, we had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious buffet surrounded by works of artisans distinguished by this title. We were able to admire their attention to detail and expertise up close through items such as bags, scissors, antiques, and many others.

Additionally, the buffet was accompanied by a superb selection of cheeses imported directly from France by Mr. Eri Hisada, who owns a cheese factory in Paris. They were perfectly matched with the champaigns and wines selected by sommelier Seika Hosokawa, who works in France. We also had the pleasure of tasting delicious French breads prepared by Mr. Masahiro Suzuki, a baker distinguished by the title of MOF.

In addition to this, we had the opportunity to taste a variety of traditional French dishes, as well as Japanese onigiri and tonjiru (pork soup) prepared by a tofu shop, providing a culinary experience combining Japanese and French cultures.

This gathering of the Franco-Japanese community after a long period allowed lively exchanges between people working in various sectors of activity.

To conclude, we had the pleasure of tasting the Galette des Rois together, awarded this year by the French Embassy and created by the talented pastry chef Shota Nakayama of the Nagoya Tokyu Hotel. This tasting successfully marked the end of our 2024 New Year's reception, which proved to be a dynamic opportunity to strengthen ties between France and Japan. We intend to continue to organize meetings in order to deepen the Franco-Japanese network in the future. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the MOF sponsors and all the participants who helped make this event unforgettable. We look forward to welcoming you at our 2025 New Year's Eve reception in Nagoya!
