Just as a wave of entrepreneurship created Japan’s postwar “economic miracle,” so it will take a new generation of entrepreneurs to revive its stagnant economy. While several shifts in generational attitudes and technology create an opportunity to revive entrepreneurship, there is also resistance.

The talk will discuss the contest between pro- and anti- entrepreneurial forces on issues of labor, gender relations, the impact of digital technology on business, the global experience of entrepreneurs, aging, government policy, finance, and politics.
