Air France: their new commitment to health and safety to ensure you a safe trip

Find out, in video, the Air France's new commitment to health and safety

The health and well-being of customers and staff are at the heart of Air France’s concerns. In addition to the strict hygiene procedures routinely applied to its flights, Air France has decided to reinforce its health measures for everyone’s protection at the airport and on board its aircraft. These hygiene measures are implemented throughout the customer journey.

  • The wearing of masks will be compulsory on our flights as from 11 May 2020. All customers will have to wear a mask throughout their journey. Customers will be notified of this via all communication channels (email, sms, websites) prior to their departure and will be asked to ensure they possess one or more masks for their trip.
  • At the airport, the measures implemented guarantee a travel experience in optimum conditions of health and safety, with the application of physical distancing measures, counters equipped with Plexiglass protection screens, regularly disinfected self-service kiosks, hand sanitizer available throughout the airport and the reorganization of customer channels at check-in and boarding to limit contact
  • On board the majority of flights, the current low load factors allow us to respect physical distancing. In cases where this is not possible, requiring all passengers and crew members to wear masks ensures adequate health protection.
  • Air France has reinforced aircraft cleaning procedures, notably with the disinfection of all surfaces in contact with customers such as armrests, tables and screens, and the introduction of a specific procedure for disinfecting aircraft by spraying an approved virucidal product.
  • The air in the cabin is renewed every 3 minutes. The air recycling system on board Air France aircraft is equipped with HEPA – High Efficiency Particulate Air – filters identical to those used in hospital operating theatres.
  • To limit interaction, the in-flight service has been simplified – the meal and beverage service has been completed adapted, and duty-free sales and the newspapers and magazines offer have been temporarily suspended.
