BeReal, the fast-growing French start-up
In Japan, the number of users has increased 10-fold in 1 year.
“Time to Bereal”
The BeReal app, founded by Alexis Barreyat and Kévin Perreau in 2019, has been a runaway success with Generation Z ever since.
Every day at a time defined by the app, users receive a notification and must take a photo within 2 minutes. To see what other users are posting, they must publish a photo once a day.
The startup is so successful that the Nikkei devoted an article to it on April 3. The reason: the growing number of users of the application in Japan.
In the space of a year, the number of Internet users using the app has multiplied by 10, putting Japanese users in second place after the United States.
According to the application, the number of daily users is over 20 million.
