Park Hyatt hotel to be closed for renovation

The iconic hotel from the film “Lost in Translation” closed its doors on May 7.

The Park Hyatt, the famous hotel in the heart of Tokyo, closed its doors on May 7, to be reopened next autumn.

The renovation coincides with the hotel's thirtieth anniversary, having opened its doors in 1994. The 52-storey building features over 200 accommodations, including 177 rooms and 23 suites, as well as 8 restaurants.

The hotel is one of Tokyo's best-known hotels, having played a central role in Sofia Coppola's film "Lost in Translation" (2003).

It also hosts the annual general meeting of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan.
